The Village of Riverwoods requires the following types of businesses to obtain an annual business license:
- Food Service Establishments
- Outdoor Dining
- Massage Spas
- Pavement Sealers
- Tobacco or Electronic Smoking Device Sales
- Video Gaming Terminals
The primary purpose of the business license is to allow the Village to conduct investigations and inspections of the premises to ensure compliance with all applicable codes.
Upon submission of the application and the accompanying fee of $150.00, an inspection will be scheduled within 48 business hours. Once the inspection is approved, the license will be issued. Licenses are valid for the calendar year, from January 1 to December 31. Annual renewals are required, and licenses are non-transferable.
Annual renewal applications are due by December 15 for the following year.
