Attempt Residential Burglary
On 10-07-2022 at 2:55 pm, police responded to a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 700 block of Juneberry Ln. The resident reported that approximately 5 minutes prior, 3 unknown subjects who had previously knocked, attempted to break in the front door before they fled the area upon realizing the house was occupied. The incident is under further investigation.
Unlawful Sale to Minor Arrests
On 10/18/2022 at 5:00 p.m. police conducted a tobacco sales compliance check at 2045 Milwaukee Av (Smoke Shop Pipes and Stuff) utilizing an underaged operative. Employee MONICA LANE PARKER, female, age 33, of the 3800 block of Burton Tr, Chrystal Lake, IL. was cited for Unlawful Sale of a Tobacco Product to a Minor. She is scheduled to appear at an administrative hearing on 12/15/2022 in Riverwoods, IL.
On 10/18/22 at 5:20 p.m. police conducted an alcohol sales compliance check at 1129 Milwaukee Av (Tandoor Curry Hotspot) utilizing an underage operative. Employee KUMAR SANDEEP, male, age 40, of the 100 block of Fulbright Ln, Schaumburg, IL was cited for Unlawful Sale of Alcohol to a Minor. He is scheduled to appear at an administrative hearing on 12/15/2022 in Riverwoods, IL.
On 10/18/22 at 5:50 p.m. police conducted an alcohol sales compliance check at 1121 Milwaukee Av (Kogii Kogii) utilizing an underage operative. Employee SOO KYUNG LEE, female, age 54, of the 1000 block of Castilian Ct, Glenview, IL was cited for Unlawful Sale of Alcohol to a Minor. She is scheduled to appear at an administrative hearing on 12/15/2022 in Riverwoods, IL.
Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle Arrest
On 10/21/2022 at 10:54 p.m. police stopped a vehicle near Lake Cook Rd and Portwine Rd and arrested the driver, CASSIOPIA L. STEWART, female, age 34, of the 4500 block of Opal Dr, Schaumburg, IL. for Speeding and Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. She was processed and taken to Lake County Jail to await a bond hearing on 10-22-22.
Warrant Arrest
On 10/20/2022, at 4:50 pm, near Milwaukee Av and Deerfield Rd, police arrested ERIK ESPARZA-VELAZQUEZ, male, age 36, of the 0-100 block of N. Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, IL, for Driving While License Revoked, Suspended Registration and three outstanding arrest warrants—one from Lake County and two from Cook County. Esparza was released on a personal recognizance bond for the traffic violations and assigned a court date of 12-07-2022 at 10:30 a.m. at 105 E. Rt 83, Mundelein, IL. Esparza was unable to post bond on the warrants and was transported to Lake County Jail to await a bond hearing on 10-21-22.

On 10/08/2022 at 12:41 a.m. police stopped a vehicle near Lake Cook Rd and Portwine Rd and arrested the driver, CHRISTIAN ANTHONY POEPPEL, male, age 31, of the 1600 block of W. Belmont Av, Chicago, IL. for Speeding, Driving While License Suspended and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was released on a $3000.00 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in Waukegan court on 11/09/2022.
On 10/10/2022 at 12:23 a.m. police stopped a vehicle near Milwaukee Av and Chicory Ln and arrested the driver, DEVEON DLEE MITCHELL, male, age 23, of the 1400 block of E. 55th Pl, Chicago, IL. for Speeding and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was released on a $3000.00 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in Waukegan court on 11/09/2022.
