Police Department Promotions

Sergeant Pfutzenreuter is sworn in as Police Commander

On September 20th, two police officers were promoted at the Board of Trustees Meeting at Village Hall.

Sgt. George Pfutzenreuter was promoted to the rank of Commander.  Commander Pfutzenreuter joined the Riverwoods Police Department in 2014 as a Patrol Officer and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2019.  Prior to joining Riverwoods, he served as a Deputy Chief of Police in Highland Park.

Detective William Kirby was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  Sergeant Kirby joined the Riverwoods Police Department in 2018 as a full-time Patrol Officer/Detective.  Prior to joining Riverwoods in a full-time capacity, he served as a detective with the Arlington Heights Police Department while also serving as a part-time Riverwoods Officer.  In addition to his duties as a sergeant, he will continue in his role as a detective.

Detective William Kirby is sworn in as Police Sergeant .
