Visible presents artworks from twenty-six artists bringing to life the latest data on health, equity, and nature in our community. Inspired by findings from Brushwood Center’s Health, Equity, and Nature Accelerator, this multi-media exhibition illuminates the systemic inequities that impact peoples’ access to a healthy environment. Often described as “invisible barriers,” this work visualizes the data of respondent experiences through interviews, maps, and artist perspectives.

Visible is a companion exhibition to the first Health, Equity, and Nature Accelerator report, working to interpret these often invisible realities into the universal language of art. In this exhibition, we examine both the findings of the report, and hear from artists from Lake County and beyond as they explore the question of what health, equity, and access to nature means to them.

Join us for the opening of Visible on Sunday, June 11th which will include a family-friendly performance from Ballet Folklorico Tayahua, a panel discussion featuring exhibition artists and moderated by Natalia Ospina (Director of the Health, Equity, and Nature Accelerator), a kid-friendly exhibition walk-through with Dani Abboud (Director of Community Programs and Partnerships), and other additional family activities!

Refreshments will be provided by Drip + Culture

Schedule of Events: 1PM-3PM

NOTE: The walkthrough of Visible, as well as the Ballet Folklorico performance do not require registration. Registration is only required for the Artist Panel and Find Yourself Outside Activity as space is limited. Families are invited to join the 2pm artist panel. However, an optional kids nature activity will be facilitated by our youth educators during the panel for any children that want to head outside while their caregivers enjoy the discussion.
