First Riverwoods Residents’ “Cars in the Woods” a Big Success

Thank you to car owners and visitors for making “Cars in the Woods” a great success. The event on Saturday, June 3 featured antique, classic, and special interest cars owned by residents of Riverwoods.

“The weather was close to perfect, each car held a unique interest, and the event offered an opportunity to get to know neighbors,” said John Maxson, event organizer, with Norm Noerper.

The thirty cars on display ranged from John’s 1931 Ford Model A, Norm’s 2000 Roll-Royce Corniche, Andrew Lapin’s 2012 McLaren, and a 1959 Corvette Roadster and 1956 Ford Thunderbird, both owned by Allan Hirsch.

For anyone unable to participate this year, folks are already talking about making this an annual event.  Hopefully schedules will permit all interested residents to display their cars next summer. For further information, contact John Maxson at jsmaxson@aol.com.
